The races are referred to as “factions,” composed of single characters or “units.” Units are classified as Melee (standard), Campaign (custom maps and campaigns) or Special (summonable or upgraded). The gameplay involves races battling computer-controlled foes. The Reign of Chaos storyline tells about the second invasion of the Burning Legion, the origins of the Scourge, the fall of Lordaeron, the awakening of the night elves and the orcs’ journey to Kalimdor.
